What is Health Coaching?
Health coaching is about empowering people to optimise and self-manage their health, and to reach their potential.
A health coach can support you to manage weight, reduce the impact of stress, optimise diet, establish an appropriate exercise routine, and improve your sleep, so that you can take steps to proactively prevent new illnesses and minimise the effects of existing ones.
Most people know what they need to do but struggle to know where to start. The information out there can be overwhelming, and a health coach can help you to make sense of this.
Working with a health coach makes it easier to make sustainable lifestyle changes, and to respond and adapt positively to challenges, by giving you the space and support you need, in a non-judgemental way, and through providing accountability.
I am proud to be a member of the UK and International Health Coaching Association, and they have produced a guide to health coaches here for more information.
Health coaching can be incorporated within Physiotherapy sessions, or offered as a stand-alone service.
Sessions can be booked individually, or as part of a course.
*Please note that I am not a Dietician, so I cannot assess, diagnose or treat specific dietary and nutritional conditions, or advise on excluding whole food groups. I am not trained to work with eating disorders, so please seek alternative support if this is relevant to you.
